CUPE Saskatchewan launches violence survey

Saskatchewan’s largest union has launched a provincial survey to better determine the extent of violence and harassment in CUPE workplaces. Survey findings will shed more light on the scale and scope of the workplace violence crisis in Saskatchewan.

Members of CUPE can complete the survey here.

“Violence and threats to the well-being of workers should never be part of the job, but years of chronic underfunding by Scott Moe has caused a workplace violence crisis in Saskatchewan,” said Kent Peterson, CUPE Saskatchewan President. “We urge all CUPE members to speak up for safety and complete the survey. Saskatchewan deserves safer workplaces and safer public services.”

CUPE has declared 2026 its Year of Health and Safety. The launch of the survey coincides with the union’s call on the provincial government to declare a workplace health and safety emergency, urging the government to work directly with workers and their unions to address unsafe conditions in workplaces across the province.
