CUPE held a press conference to condemn double-digit salary increases given to senior Saskatchewan Health Authority, SHA, executives while frontline health care workers represented by CUPE 5430 have gone nearly three and a half years without a wage increase.
Estevan health care workers bring concerns to local health minister
This week, CUPE 5430 Region 4 health care workers met with the MLA for Estevan-Big Muddy Lori Carr to discuss the challenges facing frontline workers. Carr is also the Government House Leader and Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health. Several frontline health care workers attended the meeting and shared their experiences with Carr.
New CUPE members at Phoenix Residential Society sign first collective agreement
CUPE 5545, representing over 40 workers at Phoenix Residential Society in Regina, signed their first collective agreement this week.
Poster contest: Environmental days
The CUPE Saskatchewan Environment Committee is excited to announce an Environmental Days Poster Contest. We are looking for submitted artwork from CUPE members and their families for three important environmental days of recognition: World Water Day (March 22); Earth Day (April 22); and Clean Air Day (first Wednesday in June). This is an opportunity for all CUPE Saskatchewan locals to participate in learning and supporting our environment and the importance of keeping our Earth, water, and air clean and safe.
